About Me

My photo
Description Of Myself~~Tila~~ I describe myself with a biased perspective of course. One holds two images of oneself, the one in the mirror, and the one in the head. The one in the mirror affects the one in the head. If the image in the head is good the image in the mirror is good, but if the image in the mirror is good the one in head might not be so. I would have to say that the stump in my height is blamed on my thighs. Depending on brand, but I should consider myself lucky I suppose that I made it where I did. I have a few key characteristics I have noticed and many people have commented on. I'm pretty happy with my body and what it looks like and each piece is unique and each of its functions is limited but when it is put together its power is unfathomed and anything is possible. its me and only me T-la

Apple has new 27-inch LED Cinema Display, out go the old ones

It has been confirmed – when the newly announced 27″ Apple LED Cinema Display hits the market later this September, you won’t be able to get hold of the older models any more. We’re talking about the end of the road for the 24″ and 30″ models, so those who want a larger viewing real estate might want to snag the latter at the moment while stocks last, otherwise you will just have to make do with the 27″ model when it arrives. What does the new Cinema Display offer, you ask? Well, for starters, it delivers a stunning 2560 x 1440 resolution as well as 60% more screen real estate than its 24″ predecessor. Not only that, you will be able to think of the various possibilities with its built-in iSight video camera, microphone and speakers, a powered USB 2.0 hub for added connectivity options, and an universal MagSafe connector, making the new LED Cinema Display an ideal companion for the MacBook family or a Mac desktop.

Apple has new Mac Pro line to rock your world

Do you have plenty of spare cash lying around, that you won’t mind forking out a premium for one of the better computers out there in the market? If your answer is in the affirmative, then we would be more than pleased to inform you that the new Mac Pro line has just been announced, where you will be able to enjoy up to a dozen processing cores and up to 50% more performance compared to its predecessor. Thanks to the inclusion of the latest quad-core and 6-core Intel Xeon processors, an all new ATI graphics card as well as the option to slot in up to a quartet of 512GB solid state drives (SSD), the new Mac Pro is definitely not pushover, delivering amazing performance and expandability that will keep even the most demanding consumers and professionals happy.

Technology Induced Students wiTh mental Disorders

Technology Induced Attention Deficit Syndrome is what I call the result of too many technology distractions, especially noticeable with kids. (Adults exhibit the same symptoms using some of the same technology and other distractions.) Examples of distractions are: texting, listening to an iPod or playing an online multi-player interactive computer game, or of course, doing them all at the same time. Then there is handheld net surfing and game-playing and calling on the cell phone. In the vehicle we should mention having a sip of coffee, watching the GPS and marveling at the heads-up car display and vehicle surround sound music system.

Some of the symptoms exhibited are the same as some of the symptoms. For instance:

Predominantly inattentive type symptoms may include:

* Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another

* Have difficulty focusing on one thing

* Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless they are doing something enjoyable

* Not seem to listen when spoken to

* Daydream, become easily confused, and move slowly
This particular problem is solvable without drugs or therapy. You could have a chat with the kids, which is easier said than done, and ensure they have time with people who are not "connected". Which begs the question, would they have anything in common?
Actually, yes. Sports and swimming are two activities that come to mind right away. Getting a job is a good way to re-focus on other things.
There are other considerations as well. Going too far in the correction direction may result in withdrawal, depression, runaway or other activities not expected or intended. There is a balance which must be sought with a clear head. An objective and non-reactionary response seems to work best.

fellow frenz: a little speech from ur fren TILA....hehehehe

Critical Thinking - how many definitions now?

How many definitions are there for the term: critical thinking?

Well, if you use Google and type: define:critical thinking in the search box, you will see at the top of the page, a link (Web definitions for Critical thinking) which will take you to several different website links, each with a different definition. As well, on that first Google results page and the following pages, there are so many websites promoting their own definition that one could be led astray for hours and days. Wow.

You know, for something that has been around for more than 60 years, one would think that the pundits would have an agreed-upon definition worked out by now. But no, some of the groups/organizations think that their definition is the one true definition. Good grief. Sounds like a religion!
Since there is so much disparity, then we must fall back to common sense (what!) and make a definition based on need, future education goals and the instruments to get us there.
A quote from his page:

"The following is a brief, but excellent, definition of "critical thinking" from a bill in the California State Senate that was trying to update the State's Education code:

Critical thinking is the ability to engage in reasoned discourse with intellectual standards such as clarity, accuracy, precision, and logic, and to use analytic skills with a fundamental value orientation that emphasizes intellectual humility, intellectual integrity, and fair-mindedness."

"Paul (1992, p. 9-10) defines critical thinking as "disciplined, self-directed thinking that exemplifies the perfections of thinking appropriate to a particular mode or domain of thought." Glock (1987, p. 9) offers the following broad definition: "Critical thinking skills are (a) those diverse cognitive processes and associated attitudes, (b) critical to intelligent action, (c) in diverse situations and fields, (d) that can be improved by instruction or conscious effort."

Then there is this more mellow, thoughtful reference to related "Reflected Thinking".

There are more "definitions" here.

So the beat goes on...

It is my hope that Alberta Education will present a coherent, logical, simple, easy to understand, easy to adopt, definition of "critical thinking", which will take us into the "21st century". The term has been bandied about quite a bit over the last 2-3 years in Alberta. I'm betting that for every school in Alberta there is a unique definition.

since i presented the learning styles and strategies last week in my class with B.ED TESL 2A GROUP STUDENTS, i guess some of them seriously need to think about critical thinking blog of mine so that they realise wat is the factors that everyone face when they are presenting infront of the class.....

~~ just dont throw words to someone even though YOU might think UR prefect~~

have good day frenz!
